Product Description

Zephyr 15 Combo

A holy grail amp, the Zephyr 15 will transport you straight to the tones of authentic, classic Americana inspired AA1164 Circuit.

While small in size, this little guy pumps 12-15w of more mid-scooped Californian rock tone, dripping in smooth compression and exquisite overdrive through two 6V6 power tubes into a Jensen C10R or C12R AlNiCo speaker. Add in the simply stunning vibrato and the Zephyr 15 is simply one of the most worthwhile studio and intimate gig amplifiers you could find.

Speaker Descriptions:

10" Speakers

C10R - Vibrant bell-like chime that, when exposed to overdrive distortion, transforms into a gritty response.

Falcon 40 - A clear, warm tone with a noticeable bass end. It produces some brutal fuzz when overdrive distortion is applied.

Electric Lightning - Bold and warm, with highs that shimmer. Even with overdrive distortion, it maintains its strength and clarity.

P10R - Rich, warm voice. highlights the higher frequencies with brilliant detail.

Blackbird 10” 40 - Strong, organic sound with a powerful, deep bottom range. With the usual immediacy of the top 10" speakers, the middle and treble are clear and spacious. It maintains a focussed, cutting response when set to crunch and overdrive tones.

12" Speakers

C12Q - Tone that is clear-cut, well-rounded, and full of sharp highs and mid-bite.

Blackbird 12” 40 - Warm and organic sounding, with a strong midrange, a clear, chime-filled treble range, and an exceptionally deep and controlled bottom end. able to respond brilliantly and in detail while producing harsh, overdriven tones

Blackbird 12” 100 - Rich, thick low-end, dazzling highs, and a wonderfully warm, silky finish. Overdrive distortion is managed by highlighting vibrant details and being resilient even at extreme crunch.

Alnico Cream - Warm lows and a stunning bell-like chime emanate from the Cream as they provide a lovely, laid-back onslaught. Its organic and smooth mids are further enhanced by a fine-grained detail that gives the vocal range a high-definition feel.

    Brilliant Amp

Posted by John M on 29th Oct 2023

This is the best amp I’ve owned, great tone and versatile, equally usable at home and jamming with mates. Labros is a master at his art and so approachable. The quality of his work is top shelf both in finish and sonic performance.

    Zephyr 15

I got the version with the 12” alnico speaker. I unboxed it and it, and the quality of everything blew me away. I plugged my Strat in, and the noise floor blew me away (it’s nice and quiet even with single coils). I tested clean tones at 4-5 volume and they blew me away. Easily loud enough to be heard playing live with a band. Crisp, clear, and so much bottom end. Omg the reverb is so lush. Easily the best sounding spring reverb I’ve had in an amp. The tremolo is actually very controllable, sounds great slow or fast, subtle or overbearing. Then I turned it up to 8 on the volume- Holy crap! This thing cranks! Such incredible creamy, sustainy goodness. Very controllable easing back the volume pot on my strat. Loud enough to be absolutely pumping, not so loud that you’re drowning out a small PA to get that beautiful natural tone. Then I plugged my pedals in. It took them all super well. I will probably use it at 5-6 volume for my clean sound, right where it is just starting to sound like it’s starting to break up, then use pedals to push it into the broken up heaven. Wow! This is a keeper. Labros, you are a legend mate. Thanks for being so passionate about quality, this is an amp that will age like wine and I’ll hopefully be able to pass it on to my child one day. A work of art!

    Achillies Black Face

Posted by Mark Bailey on 5th Dec 2021

I have had my Achillies 15 watt black face for 3 or 4 years now. It is of outstanding quality and fantastic tone. It has much greater clarity than the bigF RI amps. I have added a 12 inch blue and a mid control and the amp is so versatile from jazz to classic rock. Labros is great to deal with, knowledgeable, clear, precise and clearly a master of his craft.

    The Ultimate Workhorse

Posted by Jonathan S on 29th Nov 2021

I ordered this amp from Achillies in a custom specification with the 12" Jensen speaker in beautiful baby blue tolex and white grill cloth. Labros made it nice and easy to go through the options and answer any questions I had. The amp looks amazing and has an amazing tone to match. It's the perfect size for my apartment and easy to lug around if I need to take it on the go. The added feature of having a power output on the back really comes in handy as well. Labros' amazing attention to detail and use of high quality parts really makes this amp shine with a classic timeless sound. it works great with a wide variety of effects pedals and is my go-to for recording music - well deserved of a 5 star rating, would be happy to buy again!

    ZEPHYR15

Posted by Nick on 29th Nov 2021

My 2018 15w is amazing ; this is the amp I have for around the house, although you wouldn't consider it quiet, it's tone at 4-7 is heaven. I've been adding a light drive pedal to it sometimes for more drive but most of the time I don't bother as the tone is delectable as-is and I end up immersed, on a new tangent. The reverb is just superb and it's made it to a few small party & bar gigs - chuck your guitar in a gig bag and one trip from the Uber is all you need. These amps are works of art, I had a Fender 64 handwired Custom Deluxe Reverb for a short while and chose to keep this instead. Thanks Labros, whilst I heard lots of great things before buying I've been blown away and stoked these are handmade here in Oz, as a good an amp as I've ever played :-)

A fantastic work of art. The finish on this amp is flawless. The sound is incredibly warm, and the reverb and tremolo work great. I can't recommend this amp highly enough. Thank you Labros.

Like an original one... that works!

Posted by Unknown on 3rd Nov 2017

Labros' work is outstanding - his Princeton is faithful to the original amps but with a useful vibrato and none of the issues. The amp sounds incredible and Labros was good to deal with. Great at low volumes, breaks up beautifully at high volumes and there's a lot more useable range in between than with the original Fenders - especially using the second input with higher output guitars. Love this thing and know it'll be something that I'll have for a very, very long time!

    Princeton Reverb 12" Lacquered Tweed

Posted by Jay on 5th Sep 2017

I bought an Achillies Bassman in 2011 and it's been an amazing and faultless amp, receiving many compliments from people at gigs and jams and all that. I decided it was time to downsize a little, and get something with a few more features as well as being easier to lug around. I'm not much of an amp historian so I wasn't sure what was out there, but I stumbled upon the Princeton Reverb, and then happily found that I could get an Achillies one. I ordered mine in tweed because the blackface look doesn't quite work for me, and with the 12" Jensen. It is a beautiful amp. I don't mind just sitting at my desk and looking at the thing :) The reverb is gorgeous (though it gets a bit silly above about 3), and the tremolo is wonderful. It doesn't seem to break up as early as I thought it would, but sticking a TS808 into it is magic! It's responsive but not quite as unforgiving as the bassman, seeming to strike a bit of a middle ground (as I imagine a smaller Wattage amp would do...). I'm really looking forward to cranking it at a gig, but at the same time I could just mess around with chords all day in clean tremolo mode. It was sad to see my Bassman go, but I'm going to be very happy with its replacement.
